Didim Diamond is a family business, run by husband and wife and full-time residents of Altinkum, Laura and Hakan Cetinkaya. Laura is a native of South-West London and has lived in Altinkum since May 2005. Hakan is originally from the Black Sea part of Turkey, an area known for its sailors and expert seafarers, is a qualified captain, and a 15+ year veteran of Kusadasi and Altinkum tour boats and watersports businesses.
Hakan is the former captain of Elegance, the famous luxury cruise boat some Altinkum visitors may remember from several years ago, and the couple are aiming to build on that experience and create a set of cruises that stand out from the crowd, with excellent food, welcoming service and classy surroundings.
The couple's new craft, the Flying Fish, offers comfort, luxury and a break from the hustle and bustle of resort life. Here is a comment made on the Absolutely Altinkum forum:
"5 stars , 10 out of ten , big tick in the box for the Flying fish Team .
We arrived at 10 am (4 of us ) to complimentary coffee and was shown aboard by the lovely Laura and the team .The boat was immaculately clean and very comfortable with cushioned seating inside and out .
We left on time for our 3 hour fishing trip , due to the choppy water the sensible captain kept us close to land and we also got a sea side veiw of the new harbour .
Myself and another member of our group arent fishermen , however the crew had all tackle ready for us and baited our hooks so we didnt have to disturb our freinds who knew what they were doing .
Soft drinks and beer were available on board .
It was also a pleasure to meet to two other people who fished ,Gert and his partner Dican (forgive me I am sure I have mis,spelt their names )and we chatted and laughed for the whole time on board.
We arrived back at Altinkum at around 2 PM , 4 hrs sea fishing for a tenner !! on a lovely boat with good company and the sun shining . WHAT A BARGAIN .
