A BREATH OF FRESH AIR - NEW BOAT SERVICE FOR DIDIM

Didim visitors and residents will soon be able to take advantage of a first for the resort – a direct boat cruise from Didim to Kos. The service is set to cut the journey down from four hours each way to just two-and-a-half. But that’s not the only advantage… Passengers on The Flying Fish can relax, stretch out and enjoy the good things in life: the comfort of the luxurious rosewood saloon with movies beamed out on the flat screen television; complimentary hand-cooked meals catering to personal dietary needs; a “door-to-door service” eliminating the need to get up at 6am and travel by road to catch the ferry from Bodrum; and fresh cocktails served over crushed ice – a great way to avoid traveller’s tummy!

With two 240hp marine engines and an aluminium hull, The Flying Fish sits low in the water, reducing the rock and sway from the motion of the sea and allowing even sensitive souls to travel in comfort. Those thinking of a longer journey can take advantage of The Flying Fish’s upmarket facilities: private cabins including a master cabin with ensuite bathroom; 24 hour, 365 day hot water; satellite TV and DVD; first class dining and drinks service; complimentary fresh fruit; and the opportunity for a unique experience: moonlit kalamari fishing!

In the summer, a trip on The Flying Fish will offer the opportunity to cruise the beautiful bays of the Aegean in the style of a bygone era with the luxury of modern amenities. Watch the sun dance on the turquoise sea from the Observation Deck, top up your tan on the prow’s sumptuous Suncatcher Lounge, go for a dip in the sea, or a spin in the inflatable speedboat. Rinse off the salt crystals in the freshwater shower and dry your hair in the sun – or in your cabin using the provided hairdryer!

In winter, The Flying Fish will allow you to escape the cares of life on shore. The Captain’s Saloon offers the comforts of a five-star hotel lounge with screenings of classic movies and the latest blockbusters; a well-stocked bar; inviting seating area and atmospheric spotlighting. The enclosed dining area allows you to dine in warmth as you watch the seagulls snatch their food from the waves. The Flying Fish has its own electric power, so why not take a breather from power cuts and dark evenings and while away a few hours on board with your friends?

“We wanted to bring a taste of luxury to the people of Didim”, say co-owners Laura and Hakan Çetinkaya. “The town is changing, and Didim visitors are looking for something new, beyond the limits of the busy summer months. Didim is becoming an all-seasons, luxury destination, and with The Flying Fish we hope to cater to that market.”

Details about the different tours available on The Flying Fish will soon be published on the company’s website at www.didimyachting.com , along with maritime charts of the area, a guide to some of the exciting destinations on offer, and a fun glossary of nautical terms. Anyone wanting to learn more should contact Laura on +90 535 424 4661, via info@didimyachting.com or via the website.
